Chinese Skullcap is an herbal agent that has active antioxidant and antiinflammatory components. The active compounds are flavones including baicalin and baicalein. It has been used for a number of conditions most notably for anxiety and as an antiinflammatory compound. It also may have neuroprotective effects and blood sugar lowering effects.
