Genistein

Genistein is a compound derived from soy that has estrogenic properties. It is a plant estrogen, or phytoestrogen and as such many of its benefits derive from stimulating estrogen receptors. Phytoestrogens as opposed to endogenously or exogenously derived estrogens. Phytoestrogens interact more with E2 Estrogen receptors than E1 so they have a different safety profile yet maintain cardiovascular health benefits, the ability to positively influence bone density and effectiveness in improving the symptoms of menopausal hot flashes.
