Green Tea (EGCG)

EGCG is the most active ingredient identified in Green Tea. It is a catechin class compound and has strong antiinflammatory effects in both the brain and the body. It has polyphenol antioxidant compounds that have antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, and antimicrobial properties [1,2]. Green tea is popular from a health standpoint for preventing cancer and heart disease, but solid scientific evidence is not yet available [3-11].
