Zeaxanthin

Zeaxanthin is plant derived compound that has a special affinity for the eye, especially the macula. It helps to protect the eye from the harmful effects of light, especially blue light. It is also, a strong antioxidant and protect the critical structures of the eye including the macula and the lens from oxidative damage. It is used to protect the eye from age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, an inflammatory eye condition called uveitis and from diabetic retinopathy [1].
